The Storymatic Synapsis: A Little Box of Yes A New Way to Find and Share Stories Made in U.S.A.

Senses. Sentences. Stories! Synapsis is the newest member of The Storymatic family of creative prompts. Its a new, improvisational way to find and share stories all in one little box. In Synapsis you combine Riff and Connect cards to create a sentence that you pretend comes from a story that already exists. Then people ask you questions about the story your sentence comes from. As you improvise your answers, you discover all kinds of things about this story that doesnt exist yet or does it? In Synapsis, the story takes shape as you talk about character, setting, motivation, memory, and other things. It's great for people who want to explore stories, but who don't necessarily want to start at the beginning. In Synapsis, you can find and share a good story without even thinking about how it starts! There is only one rule in Synapsis. Say Yes. Imagination lives on Yes. Yes opens doors. Yes makes stories come to life. Say Yes. Synapsis has four kinds of cards. Spark cards give you context for your sentence. Riff cards give you a main word and some riffs on that word. Connect cards give you senses and comparisons. Ask cards give you questions that prompt you to think about the story in lots of different ways. Ideal for anyone who enjoys saying Yes and seeing where Yes can take you. Teachers, writers, improv performers.
