Strong, soil-resistant Whitman albums with blue textured leatherette cover are designed with thumb notches for easy window removal. In 1946 Roosevelt's portrait became the new face of the dime. The new design, created by John R. Sinnock, saw the initials JS appear on the obverse. Mintmarks were struck on the reverse of the coins from 1946-1964 and then after a period of 4 years without mintmarks, they reappeared in 1968 but this time on the obverse. From 1946-1964 Roosevelt dimes were made of 90% silver and 10% copper, each weighing 2.50 grams. From 1965 to Date the composition changed to a pure copper inner core and an outer layer made of 75% copper and 25% nickel, each weighing 2.27 grams. All Roosevelt dimes measure 17.9 mm in diameter.
