1.What is Power Delivery?
Power Delivery (PD) charging is a fast charging protocol designed to be a more universal charging standard that would allow a range of devices, not just smart phones, to charge quickly over a USB connection. One of the primary motivations behind the development of USB PD was to seamlessly share chargers and even power. The goal is to reduce e-waste in the future by removing the need for multiple chargers with various charging outputs for different products.
2.How to determine if a phone is Power Delivery compatible?
You can check if your phone supports PD in the manual. The devices that support PD charging include the Samsung Galaxy S10/S10 Plus/S10e/S9/S9 Plus/S8/S8 Plus, iPad Pro 12.9/10.5, Google Pixel/Pixel XL/Pixel 2/Pixel 2 XL, Nexus 5X/6P, Lumia 950/950XL, Nokia 8, and laptops like New MacBook Pro 12-inch 13.3inch 15-inch with Type-C Port 2016 or later, Macbook Air 2018, iPad Pro 2018, 2018 DELL XPS 12, Dell XPS 13 9350 / Dell XPS 15 9550, Razer Blade Stealth, Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 2017, ThinkPad X270 Google Pixelbook/Chromebook Pixel, Samsung Galaxy TabPro S, Galaxy Tab S3, ASUS ZenPad 3S 10, New Nokia N1 Tablet, Nintendo Switch. Even if you are not sure whether your devices support PD or not, the advanced IC chip inside the charger will automatically detect and deliver the optimal charging power for connected devices up to 90W, keeping your laptop, phone or tablet charged throughout the day.
