3 Question to Ask Before Buying Hammock Straps I wouldn't buy hammock straps without these answers. Question #1: Are they strong enough? The most common complaint I hear with other hammock straps is that they break. When they do, you fall. It's scary, embarrassing, often painful, and people have gotten injured. Ouch! The Ultralight Hammock Straps are also ultra-strong - safely holding up to 500 pounds together, and potentially much, much more. The 3/4 polyester tubular webbing has an average breaking strength of 2,295 pounds. And that's each strap! We use bar tack stitches, which are often stronger than the material they bind. Plus we back up each loop with a second bar tack stitch for maximum strength and safety. The main point is that you won't fall and get hurt. Question #2: Will they stretch? You don't want your hammock straps to stretch. If they do, you could end up cold, wet, and on the ground in the middle of the night. Our straps are 100% polyester, which will not stretch. They are completely different from nylon straps, which do stretch quite a bit, and should be avoided if you don't want to be adjusting your hammock at 3am in the morning. Question #3: Are they long enough? If your straps aren't long enough, then you won't be able to use them on thicker tree trunks, or between trees that are far apart. We give you a generous 10 feet for each strap, making it possible to hang your hammock between trees that are over 20 feet apart, or on really big trees.
